The Bentley MkVI standard steel saloon was the first Rolls-Royce and Bentley model to feature a standard body - cars were no longer only sold as rolling chassis to be fitted with bespoke bodywork by one of the many coachbuilders. In teh asutere post-war years, the Rolls-Royce image was seen to be a little too extravagant, and this model was only produced as a bentley for a few years, to be followed by teh Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn, which initially was only available to the export (mostly American market).
